The International Human Rights Commission Relief Fund Trust became an Intergovernmental Organization on November 22, 2012 after the first meeting of Intergovernmental Relations Council (IGRC) under the Presidency of His Excellency General, Emile Lahoud former President of Lebanon, in which IHRC passed its status to work as Intergovernmental Organization. International Human Rights Commission-IHRC organized the 1st World Summit on Human Rights on 10th December 2004 at Karachi, Pakistan in which delegates from 5 countries participated, 2nd World Summit on Human Rights held on 10th December 2013, in which representatives of 37 countries participated at Islamabad- Pakistan, 3rd World Summit on Human Rights held on 10th December 2016 at Islamabad-Pakistan which representatives of 50 countries participated, 4th World Summit on Human Rights held on 10th December 2019 at the UN HQ, New York in which more than 70 countries participated. During the Covid-19 Pandemic the 5th World Summit on Human Rights held virtually in 2020 on 10th Day of December 2020 and 6th addition of 2021 of World Summit on Human Rights was organized to celebrate the 73rd World Human Rights Day 2021 virtually in which many former head of states, governments, top diplomats, parliamentarians, and human rights advocates participated. Humanitarian Aid & Medical Assistance (HAMA) under the IHRC RFT, Africa Region HQ

HAMA is acronym for… Humanitarian Aid/Medical Assistance (HAMA) Relief Board of the International Human Rights Commission.

Taking care of Humanitarian aid for vulnerable populations such as patients who are, children, elderly, socioeconomically disadvantaged, underinsured or those with certain medical conditions is the main function of the HAMA. Members of vulnerable populations such as displaced persons from conflicts or disasters and the sexually assaulted often have health conditions that are exacerbated by unnecessarily inadequate healthcare. Indigenous Peoples’ Initiatives for Cultural Integration

Africa IHRC RFT conducts activities to showcase Indigenous Peoples Populations/Communities. Mindful of this, H.E Amb. Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, the Director General/Ambassador, IHRC Africa Region introduced initiatives for the protection of Indigenous peoples, populations and communities to achieve justice and stop all discrimination on Indigenous perspectives. AFRICA SEXUAL HARASSMENT/ASSAULT RESPONSE PREVENTION (A-SHARP)

In 2022 IHRC-RFT Africa Region HQ established it’s flagship Secretariat for Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services that works to prevent and eliminate sexual violence and promote healing and empowerment for people of all genders and ages who are affected by rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, stalking and sexual harassment. This therefore serves as IHRC’s recognized desk Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (A-SHARP) acknowledged by the IHRC International authorities as a standard platform for responding to issues of gender violence in Africa. ANNUAL PAN-AFRICAN WOMEN CONFERENCE

IHRC RFT Africa Region HQ established the Pan-African summit for women who annually come together to examine the issues for successfully carrying out the IHRC’s target for the African Women. Discussants from the African countries at this conference call for concerted effort to execute the IHRC vision that the responsibility of transforming the world rests on the shoulders of the women. HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION FORUM OF THE IHRC RFT AFRICA

The Human Rights Education Forum of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is the apex higher education unit established by the IHRC. The unit has entered into agreements that facilitates building synergies and amplifying the contribution to SDGs in higher education training courses towards the award of Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in several courses that are geared towards socio-economic development in pursuit of the SDG agenda. IHRC HUMAN RIGHTS COMMUNITY HOUSING PROJECTS

In accordance to provision of Affordable Housing listed in SDGs in order to increase and improve housing opportunities for low – and moderate – income households and special needs populations, including the homeless, elderly and disabled individuals, the IHRC Africa Region HQ, set up a mechanism to design ways and means to contribute efforts to the mission of providing affordable housing based on mortgage reforms. Indeed, Nigeria faces a severe housing deficit. This entails creating linkages between provision of land to property developers, increased availability of housing finance, reduction in property transaction costs and job creation across sectors ancillary to the provision of additional housing stock in African countries.
