Amb. Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, Director General Global in company of Barr. Dr. Maureen Teryila Nomnor the IHRC RFT (Africa) Executive Coordinator, Housing Development Projects have undertaken a visit to Accra, Ghana on the invitation of His Excellency, Amb. Dr. Sahid Amin Khan the World Chairman of the Intergovernmental Organization in UN Special Consultative Status.
At a brief welcome luncheon meeting, a range of issues in various areas were discussed especially the proposed commencement of the Human Rights Community Housing Development Projects of the IHRC RFT in Africa which is ready to begin in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and spread out to the other African countries. The World Chairman, Amb. Dr. Sahid Amin Khan expressed his satisfaction over the measures adopted to facilitate the immediate commencement of the Pro-poor Housing concept under the IHRC Africa indicating that housing is a human right as canvassed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of the United Nations. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Ahure espoused the honesty and hard work including the attention being received by the project owing to the resilience of Barr. Dr. Nomnor who is talking with the authorities in Nigeria on ways to commence the project as soon as possible.
While in Ghana, the IHRC RFT team will be engaged in media talk programmes and explore ways of addressing human rights issues. The IHRC Africa office in Ghana will provide briefings to the World Chairman and the Director General Global on a wide range of issues.
