PAN-AFRICAN WOMEN CONFERENCE
ANNUAL PAN-AFRICAN WOMEN CONFERENCE

IHRC RFT Africa Region HQ established the Pan-African summit for women who annually come together to examine the issues for successfully carrying out the IHRC’s target for the African Women. Discussants from the African countries at this conference call for concerted effort to execute the IHRC vision that the responsibility of transforming the world rests on the shoulders of the women.

African women therefore converge to devise ways to give their energies into IHRC’s strategic plans targeted at harnessing their potential, providing them with the necessary tools, and shaping their leadership capabilities. Indeed across the African countries many opinion moulders have hailed the work of the IHRC as vital in building a sustainable and inclusive future for all. Throughout the engaging conversation at the conference, participants explore various aspects of empowering the next generation of African women leaders.

Ultimately, this conference promotes women strategy in the area of gender equality via delving into educational reforms, mentorship programs, and innovative initiatives aimed at equipping African women with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed to address the complex challenges of our times. By fostering an environment that encourages their active participation, instilling empathy, and promoting inclusivity, we can empower our women to become formidable agents of change. Together, we will uncover pathways to nurture their creativity, ignite their passion for social justice, and inspire them to make a tangible difference in their communities.

IHRC Africa Region HQ puts a high priority on gender equality but yet gender inequalities remain deeply entrenched in every African country because women lack access to decent work and face occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. Women in Africa are too often denied access to basic education and health care while they also suffer violence and discrimination because they are under-represented in political and economic decision-making processes.

The Pan-African Women Conference is further used for paying tribute to the African personalities who championed the struggle on equal voting rights with a view that women are included in and benefit equally from governance systems. The extra focus is recommend the development of policies that can reinforce the issues that will ensure women have income security, decent work and economic autonomy and that Africa countries have to ensure women and girls live a life free from all forms of violence.

Summarily, the IHRC RFT Africa Women summit is designed to be able to open a call for women and girls to also contribute to and have greater influence in building sustainable peace and resilience, and benefit equally from the prevention of natural disasters and conflicts and humanitarian action. The IHRC seeks to reinforce the power and voice of feminist movements while highlighting the commitment and action of stakeholders, including UN Member States, the private sector and international organizations, in the drive to achieve gender equality.
