Highlights of IHRC Chief’s official visit to Dakar, Senegal 🇸🇳.

Excellency Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan, IHRC Chief, addressed the inaugural ceremony establishing the Regional Bureau of IHRC RFT in Africa. The ceremony was attended by the Representative of State of Senegal on behalf of the President of Senegal and Representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Women’s, Culture and Foreign Affairs of Senegal. The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Senegal also joined along with many dignitaries. The National Country Directors of IHRCRFT from Gambia, Guinea-Conakry, Mali, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Congo Brazzaville, and other IHRC high officials of Nigeria and Morocco was also present in the ceremony.

HIGH LEVEL BRIEFING ON THE OPPORTUNITIES IN THE IHRC-RFT AFRICA

Amb. Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, Director General Global in company of Barr. Dr. Maureen Teryila Nomnor the IHRC RFT (Africa) Executive Coordinator, Housing Development Projects have undertaken a visit to Accra, Ghana on the invitation of His Excellency, Amb. Dr. Sahid Amin Khan the World Chairman of the Intergovernmental Organization in UN Special Consultative Status. At a brief welcome luncheon meeting, a range of issues in various areas were discussed especially the proposed commencement of the Human Rights Community Housing Development Projects of the IHRC RFT in Africa which is ready to begin in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and spread out to the other African countries. The World Chairman, Amb. Dr. Sahid Amin Khan expressed his satisfaction over the measures adopted to facilitate the immediate commencement of the Pro-poor Housing concept under the IHRC Africa indicating that housing is a human right as canvassed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of the United Nations. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Ahure espoused the honesty and hard work including the attention being received by the project owing to the resilience of Barr. Dr. Nomnor who is talking with the authorities in Nigeria on ways to commence the project as soon as possible. While in Ghana, the IHRC RFT team will be engaged in media talk programmes and explore ways of addressing human rights issues. The IHRC Africa office in Ghana will provide briefings to the World Chairman and the Director General Global on a wide range of issues.
NIGERIA’S NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PARLIAMENT RECEIVED INVITATION LETTERS FROM NGIMUN PRESIDENT

The NgEDUCATORS INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS (NgIMUN) President, Amb. Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, and the NgIMUN Vice President, Dr. Nawal Yaghi were at the National Assembly to formally invite the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives to participate in the conference. Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives was thrilled to have a session with the team and stated that Parliamentary system partnership for this momentous gathering dedicated to empowering education development in developing countries is a necessity. Rt. Hon. Kalu remarked that the House of Representatives extends their warmest greetings and deepest appreciation for the team’s commitment to making a positive impact in the field of education. The NgIMUN team leader, Amb. NgIMUN’s STATEMENT AFTER COURTESY CALL TO THE NIGERIA’S SECRETARY OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION, HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR DR. GEORGE AKUME Amb. Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, the NgIMUN President led a high level team to pay a courtesy call on the Nigeria’s Secretary of the Federal Government (SGF), His Excellency, Senator Dr. George Akume in Abuja on 28th April, 2024. NgIMUN’s team and SGF George Akume had an open and frank discussion on a wide range of issues bordering on the successfully staging of the upcoming NgIMUN conference Enugu 2024 being executed under the educational diplomatic brand title of NgEducators with the backing of the International Human Rights Commission, Relief Fund Trust (IHRC RFT) in Special Consultative Status of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (UN – ECOSOC). It was a convivial atmosphere used for discussions as well as a luncheon. IHRC RFT Ordinary Session for African Countries at the NgIMUN Conference

The Director General Global of the International Human Rights Commission, Relief Fund Trust (IHRC RFT), H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, will host the IHRC African Ordinary Session for IHRC Country Directors and African Country Delegations concurrently with the NgEducators International Model United Nations (NgIMUN) Conference in Enugu State, Nigeria from June 2nd to 8th, 2024. This assembly marks the midpoint review of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa amidst various crises, aiming for transformative actions by 2030. IHRC-Nigeria Condemns Nigeria Senate’s Undemocratic Suspension of Senator

A critical report exposing the dubious proceedings employed by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has landed at the New York Head office of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), eliciting strong condemnation from H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, the Director General Global of the Commission. The report highlights the irregularities surrounding the abrupt suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi for his allegations regarding the alleged N3.7 trillion padding into the 2024 budget. Signed by IHRC-Nigeria Country Director, Ambassador Abdullahi Bakoji Adamu, the report emphasizes the Senate’s disregard for due process and transparency in handling the matter. Ambassador Adamu criticized the Senate’s decision to silence dissenting voices, emphasizing that the suspension of Senator Ningi disregarded fundamental principles of freedom of expression and fairness. He emphasized the need for democratic institutions like the Senate to uphold transparency and accountability in governance matters, particularly concerning critical issues such as the national budget. “IHRC-Nigeria strongly condemns the Senate’s high-handedness, viewing it as a threat to citizens’ rights and democratic principles. VISIT TO UNICEF REGIONAL OFFICE, ENUGU

With focus on how to achieve Education Development in developing Countries, a team led by Director General Global/Ambassador, International Human Rights Commission, Relief Fund Trust, H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure has continued to engage with relevant stakeholders to call for contributions in planning the International Model United Nations Conference. Prof. Ndubueze Mbah, the Enugu State Hon. Commissioner of Education recently accompanied the team on a visit to request for partnership with the Enugu State Regional UNICEF office, towards the successful holding of the upcoming NgEducators and International Human Rights Commission Model United Nations (NgIMUN) conference in Enugu State. As the discussions progressed, the team emphasized without any shadow of doubt, that education is very important and essential for human beings. The UNICEF office also extolled the NgIMUN secretariat set up at the Enugu State Ministry Education for designing the conference to achieve strategies for advocating that Education shapes humanbeings’ lives in positive ways and Education is a human right that should be bestowed on all human beings exclusively by reason of being human. The UNICEF office representatives said their work involves contributing in issues that are geared towards intellectual presentations to show that a strongrelationship exists between education and development as has been propounded by many theorists and researchers.
